History

History of Bert Hill Movers

Bert Hill Movers was founded in 1915, by Herbert Hill Sr., later, taken over by his son Herbert Hill Jr. On April 1, 1970, Herbert Hill Jr. sold the company to Kenneth Dulude Sr. Kenneth had been a part-time employee at Bert Hill Movers for eighteen years. When Kenneth Sr. took over the business, Bert Hill Movers began to focus on higher quality service in household and piano moving. Bert Hill Movers became the number one piano mover in the Springfield area. Rigging pianos out thru windows and porches required using block and tackle or a crane. Ken Sr. invented a hatchway rigging for moving pianos in and out of basement hatchways. No other local mover had this type of rigging.

Kenneth Dulude Jr. took over the business in 1996 after working for Bert Hill movers since 1970. He restructured the company to add storage and larger trucks to meet the customer's needs. Doing so, Bert Hill Movers also expanded their moving area to cover the entire east coast, Maine to Florida. Bert Hill Movers has stayed an independent mover without becoming an agent. This insures great personal service.

In 2005, Kenneth Dulude purchased a 20,000 sq. foot office and storage facility in Westfield, MA. This was needed to meet Bert Hill's growing demands.

In 2008 further broadening services, Bert Hill added portable storage for the do-it-yourself customer called DIY Mobile Box.

Bert Hill Movers became the area's number one mover because of the high standards in taking care of the furniture, the home and most importantly, the customer.
